Strategic Location: It is situated right on the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway (NH4), making it highly convenient to reach from both Mumbai (approx. 95 km) and Pune (approx. 60 km). The nearest train station is Malavli, which is just a short distance away.

Location Advantage: The region is surrounded by the lush green hills of the Sahyadri range, offering year-round pleasant weather, especially during the monsoon. It provides a peaceful escape from the city, attracting a lot of investment in gated community residential projects and holiday homes, capitalizing on the scenic, serene mountain and river views (near the Indrayani River).

Bhaje Caves- Ancient Buddhist Site – A cluster of 22 rock-cut caves dating back to the 2nd century BCE. Like Karla, they were monastic complexes (Viharas and Chaityas). The carvings here are historically significant, with some believed to depict an early use of the Indian percussion instrument, the Tabla.

Lohagad Fort – Historic Hill Fort – Translating to the “Iron Fort,” this majestic hill fort (1,033m elevation) has a history spanning several dynasties. It was famously captured and used by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to store his treasury. It overlooks the Pawna Reservoir.

Visapur Caves/Fort – Historic Fort & Caves – Situated near Lohagad and connected to it by a small range. Visapur Fort was built later to aid in the defense of Lohagad and the ancient trade routes. The trek up offers panoramic views of the entire region.

Pawna Dam / Lake – Natural Reservoir – Scenic Spot | An artificial lake formed by the Pawna Dam, it provides a stunning backdrop for scenic views, camping, and watersports. It is a major source of water for the region.
